Simulator Overview
Realism
Accurate simulation
Our Simulators are designed to behave just like the real machine, from the way all cabin controls and displays function to how the machine behaves on a wet haul road or interacts with other machinery on the mine site. Operators will learn how to make split-second decisions when Operating the Simulator. Immersive Technologies’ exclusive alliances with the leading equipment manufacturers ensure the realism and accuracy of the simulation are by far the best in the industry.
Realistic graphics
Our Simulators make use of special hardware and advanced software engineering to generate the "real time", high quality images over the 180 degree field of view or 4.5 meter wide wrap around screen. The following actual images represent only 1.5 meters (33%) of the total viewing area!
Real machine controls and displays
The Operator's station (Conversion Kit®) uses the controls and display instruments found in the real machine. All instruments are functional and fully coordinated with the training software. This allows Operators to instantly recognize the controls of a real machine.
180 degree full colour displays
These large, high quality screens display real-time graphics that create the feel of sitting in a real machine. The 180° of wrap-around vision is vital to observe obstacles and mine traffic through the left and right windows. Without this the Operator has no peripheral vision.
Three axis motion base
The highly responsive motion base moves to simulate road conditions and grades giving the trainee an accurate feel of machine performance, reaction to road conditions, acceleration, braking and so on. This motion base has been designed to deliver the optimum performance required by earthmoving simulation.
Digital surround sound audio
Sound is an important factor in providing full feedback to the Trainee. Our Simulators feature a digital surround-sound system that accurately recreates engine sounds, loading and dumping noises, even traffic sounds. The trainee can even tell which direction the sound is coming from. This is very important when working in the confines of a pit amongst other machines.
Side view mirrors
There are side rear view mirrors that accurately display what an operator would see. They are vital for reversing under the loader and at the dump. Without these mirrors the simulation could not teach or test these necessary skills.
