Immersive Technologies has further expanded its exclusive relationship with Komatsu with the release of the WA1200-3 wheel loader.

Immersive Technologies has extended its simulation product range to include the world’s largest mechanical wheel loader, the Komatsu WA1200-3.

Popular across Japan, Australia and the United States, the Mountain Mover WA1200-3 boasts the largest bucket in its class, incorporates a range of new automated machine features including travel speed and drive force limiters, tire slip control, manual and automatic transmission selectors, and wheel traction control.

Following a thorough review of the simulator, Facundo Arano, Mine Training General Foreman, Gold Corp Mexico , reported “ It’s been a great privilege and advantage to have a training tool like the WA1200-3 Simulator in our department. Until the user is sitting in the simulator, it is hard to believe how real the experience can be. Through demonstration and practice, we’ve been able to train our operators in the areas of safe loading distance and stability control. Thanks to this product by Immersive Technologies, our team is doing a very good job.”

Oye Obe, Executive Vice President, Immersive Technologies says: “This development builds upon our exclusive alliance with Komatsu to respond to customer’s needs with the most advanced simulated Komatsu equipment available. Simulation of the sophisticated features in the WA1200-3 has resulted in a range of enhancements to our simulation software. For example, we re-designed our drive-train simulation to allow accurate replication of the machine’s unique handling requirements, such as coasting and roll back on steep grades.”

Obe further went on to say, “Our collaboration with Komatsu and exclusive use of their restricted machine technical data in developing the most advanced simulation equipment available is one of the reasons why Immersive Technologies is the preferred global platform for simulator training in the mining industry.”
